  • Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council staff have been digging deep for the victims of the Pakistan floods and raised over £800. Employees showed their concern by wearing green and white. The event raised over £400 with the final total yet to come in.
  • The B&Q store in Blackburn and Womans Voice are raising  money for the flood effort.  Pictured above are:  Wendyanne  Smith  [Project  Manager] and Riff Haworth (Events  coordinator], Rapper Nas-T and members of the B&Q staff.
  • Mohammed Tariq, aged 35 swam 64 lengths and raised £700 for charity. The number of swimming pool lengths equated to one mile. He said, “I would like to thank all my family and friends  who donated towars a worthy cause.”

  • Staff and students at Wilmslow High School collected hundreds of bags of second hand clothing to send to the flood victims. On top of that they managed to collect £1000 for the relief effort. Hamayoon Sulta
  • We did it! Football fans walked from Ewood Park, the home of Blackburn Rovers to Bloomfield Road, Blackpool for the Premier League game betwenn the two side. They set off at 3am. They managed to raise over £3,000 for the Flood Relief effort.
  • Youngsters from The Valley School in Bolton paid to dress in green for the day, representing the colours of the Pakistan flag, and raised £530.
  • £4,100 was raised by the team from Global Car Wash. Family, friends and staff at the car wash worked morning to sunset washing as many cars as possible to raise funds for the appeal and what a fantastic job they did.
