Two new teams to this tournament go head to head  in the final quarter final.

Halifax West AFC Vs South Manchester (Monday May 5th 6pm)

South Manchester impressed in the play-offs and looked very accomplished despite missing some of their more senior players.
The side certainly looks one of the strongest to enter the tournament in recent years.
They will come up against a Halifax side who also have a few points to prove which sets this fixture apart this year.
In the league the side finished mid-table in the Premier Division and are the only club in the tournament to play all their games at their own pitch. The division is made-up of 14 teams and the league itself boasts no less than seven adult divisions which includes reserve teams.
The side can physically match any side here but will they have the pace to contend with some of the more counter-attacking teams?
The club officially celebrates it’s 100th anniversary this year. Not sure how many other teams here can say that!.

New entrants Halifax West AFC came through a tough play-off against Bury Town to reach the final eight here.
In that game they were quite impressive in parts and came from behind twice, to take the game into extra-time.  Despite a last minute scare they looked a lot better once they had got ahead.  The game ended 5-2 to Halifax.
In the league they have had another good season. They should also get promoted on goal difference into the Premier division.
Earlier in the season they won the North West Asian Play-offs and will represent the region at the UK national championships in Scotland later in the year.  A good effort on their first attempt.
They haven’t been tested at this level yet and will have to come through South Manchester and either of the Bolton sides to reach the final. History though does show new teams tending to do well here.
