A 36-year-old man has been charged with preparing terrorist acts following a police raid on his home.
Mark Colborne, of Butts Road, Sholing, Southampton, Hampshire, was charged last night with engaging in conduct in preparation of terrorist acts contrary to section 5(1) of the Terrorism Act 2006.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court today.
Colborne was charged following a joint investigation by Hampshire police and the south east counter-terrorism unit.
A Hampshire police spokesman said: "This charge follows an arrest and search at an address in Butts Road on June 3 this year. It is not part of a wider investigation and there is no threat to the local community."
