Police have raided a house in Leicester as part of an investigation into two people accused of supporting an al Qaida-linked group in Syria.
The property was searched on Wednesday morning in tandem with raids in western Germany.
Federal prosecutors in Germany said the searches were carried out to gain evidence against the two unidentified people who are accused of giving backing to the al-Nusra Front, now called Fatah al-Sham Front.
Leicestershire Police refused to say if any arrests were made.
A spokeswoman said: "Officers from the East Midlands special operations unit have today executed a search warrant at a residential address in Leicester.
"The search was conducted on behalf of the Federal Prosecutor's Office in Germany."
The suspects are alleged to have supported the al-Nusra Front for a number of years, organising aid convoys, sending ambulances, medical equipment and food to the group in Syria, as well as collecting donations.
