The Chelmsford Indian Association hosted their first ever Indian Food Festival
As well as several food stalls with a diverse assortment of authentic cuisines from across the Indian sub continent, a stall dedicated to selling ethnic Indian Jewellery and clothes also proved to be a popular attraction.
The event, held at Boreham Village Hall was attended by over 300 people from all over Essex.
Most of the dishes were personally home cooked by members of the Chelmsford Indian Association, who decorated their stalls in colourful traditional decor.
Attendees were spoilt for choice with the dishes ranging from Assamese Fish curry, Bombay Vada Pav, Kerala fish fry, North Indian Chaat (street food), Chettinad chicken and South Indian specialities like Idli and Bisi bele bath.
Stalls kindly donated their proceeds to charity; Mrs Shama to Little Havens Hospice (£ 222.82), Khushi Inamdar from Chelmsford County Girls for Living hope School in Kampala, Uganda (£115), Sweta Jain to Sightsavers ( £20 , Samudraa Arts to SCARF, an organisation supporting patients with Schizophrenia (£50).
