BUNDLES of joy were delivered this Christmas to make it the best ever festive season for mums.

While most families were opening their presents on Sunday, mums were at the Royal Bolton Hospital Princess Anne’s maternity unit waiting for the arrival of the most special gift of all.

The maternity unit was kept busy over Christmas Day with the delivery of more than a dozen babies.

Versha Patel, aged 36, and her boyfriend Krishian, aged 36, are still thinking of a suitably special name for their gorgeous little girl who was born at 3.45am weighing 4lbs and 12oz.

The little one decided to put in an early appearance before her due date on January 19.

Miss Patel, who lives in Great Lever, said: “I came into the hospital for a check-up, I was expecting to go home.

“I didn’t expect that she would be born on Christmas Day, but it is definitely the best Christmas present for us and the whole family.

“She is our first child so it is a very special day.”

Baby Alfie-James Pendlebury was certainly not going to miss out on the festivities.

He was born at 9.15pm on Christmas Day weighing a healthy 8lbs 11oz.

Mum Zoe Martin, aged 27, from Great Lever, said: “He was due Boxing Day.

“I came in at 2.30pm and I was being taken to have a C-section but he didn’t wait.

“He is our first, he’s healthy and we will all be having Christmas dinner later.”

It was certainly the best Christmas ever for Chelsea Smith, aged 24, from Blackrod, who gave birth to Jesse Mysercough.

The little one weight 7lbs and 12oz.

She said: “It has been the best Christmas, ver special.

“He was due on December 20, but waited until Christmas Day at 3.12am.

“We have had the family here for Christmas.”

Miss Smith said: “His dad Thomas thinks he is amazing.”

Fazila Mitha, aged 31, and dad Saddiq, aged 29, welcomed Nur Mitha to the world.

Mum says her baby girl’s birthday will be made extra special during the festive season.

She was born at 4.30pm weighting 8lbs 4oz.

Mrs Mitha, who lives with her family in Halliwell, said: “She was due on January 12 so we thought we would still have time during the holiday to get everything ready and buy in the sales, but she decided to come early.

“She is our first and Christmas means family time, and we had that but of a different kind. She was quite determined to join us. It has made Christmas day so much more memorable.

“She is the best Christmas present.”

Sabana Patel, aged 28, from Bolton, also celebrated the arrival of her first child.

She and her husband Huziafa, aged 30, are still choosing an extra special name for baby Patel, who was born at 9.58pm weighing 6lb 3oz.

Mrs Patel said: “He was due on December 22, so he has made Christmas Day very special.

“His birthday will not be forgotten , it will still be a special birthday.

“I never thought he would come on Christmas day.”

Mum Jennifer Clarke- Pillin, aged 33 had double the job this Christmas with the arrival of gorgeous twins George and Esme.

George was born at 3.33am weighing 5lbs and 120z and Esme was born ten minutes later weighing 5lbs 8oz.

They were due on January 7.

Their arrival made Christmas magical for Miss Clarke-Pilling’s partner Becky and twins’ sisters Sophie, aged 14 and Romy, aged 10.

Miss Clarke-Pilling, who lives with her family in Leigh, said: “They have made Christmas.

“We have had Christmas here, with everyone and his dog coming to visit.

“The girls are so thrilled and we will make the twins’ birthday special, we will probably give them their own day as well.”
