Sarvat Jabeen Khan celebrated the 20th anniversary of an annual Charity Cake Break she has hosted to raise funds for the Multiple sclerosis (MS) society.
MS is a neurological condition which affects around 100,000 people in the UK. Every day 14 people are diagnosed with MS a life-long, chronic condition for which there is currently no cure.
Just before Ramadan Sarvat was joined by family and friends from across Lancashire and helped to raise £1000 and there are still donations to come in.
Sarvat was diagnosed with MS in 1996. She told us, “A big thank you everyone. I am delighted to be able to host this event each year.
“People have been really helpful and the event also helps to raise more awareness of the illness within the Asian community.”
Once diagnosed, MS stays with sufferers for life, but treatments and specialists can help them to manage the condition and its symptoms.
