A peaceful protest against the ongoing military assault on Gaza will be held in Preston tomorrow.

The Children of the Ghetto, a charity based in Preston, are calling for the international community to intervene and end the carnage and collective punishment of the Palestinian people.

Mukhtar Master Chair of Children of the Ghetto said, “Israel’s actions constitute war crimes on the Palestinian people. The International community must act now and put a halt to the death and destruction being inflicted by the Israelis.

John Browne Preston City Councillor said, “I am upset and disgusted with the behaviour of Israel, regarding their treatment of the Palestinians living in the Gaza Strip. I am also disgusted with the response of the International Community”.

Ilyas Desai Imam of the Shuhudah Mosque, Deepdale said, “For Muslims around the world, Ramadhan is a month of fasting, patience, sympathy and charity. I ask where is there sympathy? When Israel continue to kill and the world remains silent.”

Michael Lavalette former Preston City Councillor added, “The people of Preston are always passionate when it comes to the injustices suffered by the people of Palestine.

"I am sure that Saturday’s event will be just as passionate and well attended.”
