Aamir Mitha of Bolton was the recipient of the Achievement in Sport Fusion Award.


Ever since he was two Aamir has had problems with his hearing.  But this inspiring youngster has taken everything in his stride and this year achieved his dream of becoming a kickboxing black belt.


Aamir, started kick boxing at the age of five at Morrison’s Black Belt School where he trains for an hour and half each week. He achieved his black belt in January at the age of 11.

He uses a combination of hearing aids and lip-reading to listen and after gaining his blackbelt competed for the academy in a series of tournaments. 
The most recent one took place in Birmingham where he finished third.


Speaking after receiving his award he said, “It is amazing and so good. It is the first time I have held a trophy.


“I have achieved what I wanted to do. To be a kick boxing you have to train hard and improve yourself.”


His instructor, Jason Morrison, head coach at the Morrison’s Black Belt School Academy said, “I am very proud to see him receive this award. I really do believe he deserves it and has worked very hard.”
