An Accrington mum of one has embarked on a new adventure as she opens her brand-new daycare business.

Amina Asghar, 24, has just opened the doors on her new business Little Explorers Daycare, hoping to provide parents and guardians across Accrington with support for their childcare needs as well as educating young children.

Officially becoming registered on Sunday, Amina is now open and she is excited to welcome families to her service.

Amina said: “I am very excited and eager to get my little explorers enrolled and settled so we can begin our amazing learning and play journey.

“And so, I can implement all my fabulous ideas into my setting.

“I became officially registered on Sunday and am now open for business as of now.

“The reason I decided to open my own childminding business was because I felt I could provide a home from home setting where children can learn and play in a homely setting, whilst being in a low adult child to ratio which allows children’s individual needs to be met.

“The most important part was me being able to have my own little boy with me whilst I work and allowing him to be able to learn and develop in my care whilst I work and without me missing out on all his milestones.

“I currently have full time and part time childcare places available from ages zero to five years, I will be providing holiday club care in half-term, and I'm hoping to also provide two, three and four-year-old funded places which I am currently looking at getting set up.

“I provide flexibility for all parents and flexible hours which can be discussed, as a parent myself I know how hard it can be to juggle work, family life and having that all important ‘me time’ which is very important for all parents as it allows them to recharge.

“I want my parents and children to feel like we are all a family and therefore provide all aspects of support for parents they know they can contact me at any time with any concerns or support they may need.

“I encourage parents to implement activities and learning from daycare at home and vice versa home learning or any support which is required from parents can be implemented into our daily routine at little explorers’ daycare.”

Amina said she has been working in childcare for eight years and has all the qualifications and relevant training in place.

She said: “I have worked in childcare since I was 16 or 17 years old, I completed my Level 2 and 3 in childcare and early years very early on in my childcare career and then went onto gaining a full-time job at Safehands green start nursery where I worked for a few years.

“I then went onto to work at a nursery called The Magical Kingdom Nursery and became third in charge, trainee manager.

“I did this role again for a few years whilst completing my foundation degree in working with children and young people and then later became acting manager of the nursery before I went on maternity leave in December 2020.

“I stayed on maternity for a year before returning.

“I have all relevant training, safeguarding lead, food hygiene, prevent duty, undertaking babies, FGM, paediatric first aid and many more.”

Amina said she is already looking to the future to offer even more services.

She said: “In the future I am hoping to also do school runs for children at Spring Hill Primary School which is located on exchange street in Accrington, and also Little Starts Nursery which is located on Richmond street in Accrington.”

Amina said she was inspired to name the business Little Explorers as children learn through exploration.

She said: “The name was inspired by the thought that every child learns and develops through being giving the opportunity to explore.”

The daycare is based in Accrington and parents can contact Amina on Facebook at Little Explorers Day Care or via email at littleexplorersdaycare11@hotmail.com or call 07478 739726.
