A family owned fashion business is fast becoming one of the most sought after labels in the country.

Chenille was founded and run by the husband and wife duo, Rizwan Bangee and Afsana Haji.

Rizwan is the Business Manager who has taken the brand to exciting heights worldwide.

Afsana, is the Creative Director and Designer behind the label. Both originate from Preston, and now reside between UK and Dubai.

The couple say Chenille’s brand identity is reflected in its name; ‘Chenille’ meaning quiet simply a type of silk yarn.

“The name of our brand had to reflect the identity of each piece of garment and portray the luxurious image of our soulful brand”. said Afsana.

“Our current position is a contemporary and quirky, upmarket ready-to-wear brand that is marking itself to be at the cutting edge of fashion. We as a brand are always ensuring that we are forecasting ahead with the evolving fashion industry”.

Rizwan said, “Chenille’s key brand strategy has always been to being unique to its designs and always ensuring our clothing line is going the extra mile to make it stand out.

“Our creativity being remarkably unique through our signature in-house prints and use of colour and texture has led our brand to have an International reach through various online stockist’s and supplying to high end boutiques in London, Paris, Europe, Dubai, Qatar, Kuwait, Singapore and many other countries. The brand is a registered trademark in UK since 2012”

The couple say the brand’s commitment is to become an eclectic and innovative design house to bridge the gap between fashion and modesty and take it to a global audience. Their vision is driving the force of modest fashion to the western world along with serving the needs of the Middle East region.

Working out of their head office and studio in Dubai, they opened their flagship store in their home town Preston in 2009, to tailor a contemporary, quirky and vintage clothing line for the cutting edge fashionista’s of UK.

Since then, Chenille has participated in global fashion shows promoting their line and now stocks their collections in many countries, including House of Fraser.

A combination of their hard work, raw talent and versatility makes the Chenille brand accessible to Men and Women of all ages and backgrounds.

This Ramadan the company is launching their first Casual Abaya Line.

Rizwan added, “With the success of our Mens thobe line, we had many requests from our stockists to design an accessible, casual and affordable Abaya collection. We launched this line in April in Paris at the La Foire Musulmane expo and sold out!”
