Selfridges Birmingham has joined other city centre shops to open late in the run-up to the Eid festival.
Selfridges will stay open until 10pm allowing those who enjoy leisurely unhurried late shopping - to visit the store in the evening and shop for new outfits and gifts for Eid al-Fitr.
For the first time, several other key retailers in Birmingham will join Selfridges in staying open for longer - a tradition the store has pursued during the summer period for many years.
Yesterday a city-wide shopping event will be held to mark the occasion.
On Sunday 27th a professional henna artist will be offering a free tattoo service on Level 4.
Vicki Cain, general manager at Selfridges Birmingham said: “We’re proud to cater for a diverse mix of cultures and communities here in the city and have been demonstrating a commitment to providing an unrivalled shopping experience - for all our customers - for many, many years.
“Eid brings a festive atmosphere and a level of excitement to the store with our dedicated pop-ups, beauty services and exclusive Eid product presented to give the celebration the sense of occasion it deserves.”
Selfridges Birmingham will also have longer opening hours (10am - 10pm) on the day of Eid-al-Fitr (28 July) and will stay open until 9pm for the rest of July.
