FORMER Co-op Bank boss Paul Flowers has made a further appearance in court ahead of his fraud trial.
Flowers, 73, a former Methodist minister, Labour councillor in both Bradford and Rochdale and chairman of Co-op Bank between 2010 and 2013, appeared at Manchester Crown Court for a brief hearing on Monday, the defendant walking with the aid of a wheeled walking frame as he entered the dock.
The defendant spoke only to confirm his name during the 30-minute hearing.
It is alleged he committed a £68,000 fraud by abusing his position between June 2016 and October 2017 while acting as a power of attorney for a woman named Margaret Mary Jarvis and, following her death, when he acted as an executor of her will.
He has yet to enter any pleas to the charges.
Judge Nicholas Dean KC, Recorder of Manchester, bailed Flowers until July 8 for a further hearing ahead of his trial in September 2025.
