The wife of a businessman who disappeared more than eight months ago says she has lost faith in the police investigation into his whereabouts.

Car dealership boss Sajid Saddique, 32, of Heaton, Bradford, has not been seen since February 14 when he left home to attend a meeting in Shipley.

Mr Saddique's car, a Volkswagen Bora, was discovered later that day abandoned in the car park of the town's Asda supermarket. Since then there has been no trace of him.

His wife Asma has been left to bring up alone her three children - Nerha, six, Salihah, two, and Keyann, 16 months.

Following Mr Saddique's disappearance a number of farms and other properties were searched for clues. Appeals for information were made by police and by Mrs Saddique.

Mrs Saddique said,"I have contacted the police repeatedly but they tell me nothing.

"Because there is no mention of my husband's disappearance now people assume he has been found or that I know where he is.

"My husband just seems to have vanished. My life is at a standstill - I can't move on because I don't know what happened.

"I am just constantly waiting to hear some news.

"I have lost faith in the police. They carried out searches at the time but since then I've heard nothing.

"I get so annoyed when I see other cases with national appeals for information."

"It has been really difficult for Neha. She is so close to her father. Children adapt but it has been very hard for her.

"She is seeing a counsellor because she just doesn't understand what is going on."

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said, "We are still actively investigating Sajid's disappearance and have a specific team of detectives working on this case.

"We are also in regular contact with the family, keeping them up to date with how the investigation is going."

"We sympathise with Sajid's family but these investigations can be long and complicated."

Anyone with any information should call police on (01274) 373700."
