BBC News has come in for fierce criticism for their coverage of the death of Bollywood icon Shashi Kapoor.
Viewers took to social media to vent their frustration at the lack of empathy and even more shocking to many was how they featured a picture of Rishi Kapoor instead.
In fact during the segment they never used a picture of Shashi Kapoor who died yesterday aged 79.
BBC News just reported death of Shashi Kapoor with clips of Rishi Kapoor and Bachchan. π€¦π½ββοΈ pic.twitter.com/HNO31n1sWr

#BBC News hire proper researchers! Report on legend #Shashi Kapoor's death and you show #Amitabh and his brother #Rishi Kapoor but no clip of him or his iconic movies. Call yourself a news channel?

Dear BBC, All Indian actors don't look alike. Big difference between the footage you aired of the actors. Surely, you can do better research next time? #ShashiKapoor Β https://t.co/2d24FC9DxD

@BBCNews Shashi Kapoor dies and you show a clip of Amitabh Bachchan and then Rishi Kapoor. Why do I pay my licence fee for such shabby journalism? #bbc #shashikapoor

BBC News Editor Paul Royall apologised on Twitter, He said, "#BBCNewsTen is very sorry wrong images were used to mark the death of Shashi Kapoor. Not our usual standards and I apologise for any upset."
Maybe next time someone canΒ justΒ ask was the team at the Asian Network?
.@DJNoreenKhan remembers Shashi Kapoor with a whole hour of hits from the films he starred in. https://t.co/Esmu15bx85
