Asif Iqbal MBE received an invitation for a Community Champion reception hosted by the Prime Minister.
The event aimed to mark the contribution they have made in their local community.
Asif was invited in recognition of his hard work with the local communities including as a President of Harrow United Deaf Club and Ambassador of Harrow Art Centre. Asif who is President of Harrow United Deaf Club said, 'I was shocked when I received a letter of invitation from No.10, and I'm honoured to be recognised for my community work which I am passionate about. I hope to encourage and inspire local communities to give something back to the community.
"It could be something as simple as volunteering or as challenging as organising a variety of monthly events to educate and inspire others on various issues. It is so rewarding when you see your action made lots of difference in other people's life, creating happier communities."
Prime Minister David Cameron, welcomed Asif and the other Community Champions.
