A Gujarat Foundation Day Reception will take place in the House of Commons tonight.
Priti Patel MP, is hosting the event which celebrates the achievements and contributions of the Gujarati community in the UK and around the world.
This event is being hosted in partnership with the National Congress of Gujarati Organisations (NCGO) UK.
Priti said, “As an MP of Gujarati origin, I am proud to host the first ever Gujarat foundation day celebrations in UK Parliament.
"This major event not only commemorates the founding of the state of Gujarat 54 years ago, but it is a celebration of the tremendous contributions the Gujarati community makes to our British way of life. This is a historic and special event and I look forward to sharing it with members of Britain’s Gujarati community.”
Sharad Parikh, President of the NCGO, added, “It is with immense pride the National Congress of Gujarati Organisations (NCGO UK) holds this celebrations in the Palace of Westminster.
"We are celebrating not just the birth of the State of Gujarat but the continued success of Gujarat."
