Hearing the news I almost choked on my mince pie. Cancelling Christmas, no more office parties, not even a sliver of silver tinsel?

Has the world gone completely PC bonkers! Right, let me get this straight; some office parties are being cancelled because 'Muslims' will be offended?

Ok, and this information came from a high authority in Saudi Arabia, possibly Makkah - the centre of Islam?

No, then maybe there was a complaint from the MCB (Muslim Council of Britain), not even that?

I'm running out of ideas, has there been rioting on the streets by non-Christians who have taken offence.

I can't recall it being on the news, maybe they failed to report it as the mini tornado in London took precedence.

Please don't tell me we are all up in arms because of an assumption!

Muslims are offended by Christmas! Really that's news to me as I'm half way down my crimbo list of preparations; I actually bought my cards in October and have just three more pressies to buy.

So there's no longer going to be an Xmas knees up at the office.

Three quarters of employers are not even allowing tinsel.

Well, the real reason for that is A) cost.. and B) The debauchery!

Another factor could be that the majority of people are atheists (eighteen million the last time I Googled).

The declining numbers attending midnight mass on Christmas Eve year on year is evidence of this.

The congregation at Argos however tells another story. Are we not living in a time where the whole Christmas palava is an over commercialised farce?

With the first evidence of Christmas appearing in the shops by September, parents begin to tighten the purse strings as the demands every year of children snowball.

The three wise men of the twenty first century are Diamonds, Visa and Chanel no 5!

Back to my alleged offence taken at Christmas, I guess that means I really should put away my optic fibre tree that is brought to life on the first of December every year.

And what about me putting out my daughter's pillowcase with a view to a delivery of pressies from St Nicholas in true Jabeen tradition.

Then there's Christmas dinner, which comprises of a chicken instead of turkey but there are brussel sprouts by the dozen.

While eating Christmas dinner we all watch the classic Wizard of Oz,. I must admit I don't watch the queens speech, although I am a Christmas nut I am not completely insane.

Does this sound like the goings on of an individual who is offended?

I'll tell you what offends me, voting for Mylene Klass every day on 'I'm a celebrity' only to have her pepped at the post by Matt the non entity!

Another thing is being told by some non-Muslims that I am offended by Xmas when in reality it is absolutely definitely my most favourite time of the year!

I wish the Islamaphobia marketing machine would just have a Kit-Kat; after all it's Christmas and you know what that means, peace and goodwill to all.
