An author will launch a new book featuring the works of celebrated philosopher and writer Alama Iqbal.

Sabeena Khan's English translations of 'Shikwa Jawab e Shikwa' will mark Pakistan Resolution Day.

Sabeena said, "Initially this project had been recommended to me by the now late Dr Javid Iqbal himself during my personal meetings in early 2014 in Pakistan.

"Dr Javid Iqbal felt that if Allama Iqbal’s masterpiece Shikwa, Jawaab-e-Shikwa could be translated in simple English as I had done so in my other works, then it could be more easily understood and would help in the way of furthering the philosophies of Allama Iqbal.

"Up until that point I had never come across this particular piece of Iqbal's work but from that point onwards it became an entrusted personal mission of mine to deliver as per the recommendation of Dr Javid Iqbal.

She added, "Despite that fact that a very dear soul of Dr Javid Iqbal is no longer with us but I have felt the blessing present in more than one way making this task possible.

"Therefore, for the first time ever, please let me present to you my works on Shikwa, Jawaab-e-Shikwa and a learner tool pack in form of activities to suit all learners to their level of learning all in one book. "

The launch will take place on Sunday 25 March from 1-3pm at Bangor Street Community Centre in Blackburn. All are welcome to attend on the day.
