The ZEE London Mela will be held at the new home of  Wembley Park on Saturday 3 September 2016
 
Featuring the very best of Bollywood, urban and classical music and dance across three stages, spectacular street theatre and circus, 
 
 
ZEE Main Stage in association with Sunrise Radio

ZEE’s Asad Shan and Sunrise Radio’s Anushka Arora will be welcoming onto the main stage amongst others acclaimed UK based Qawwali group, the Hussein Brothers; Pooja Angra, one of the most respected classical Asian singers in the UK performing a range of music from Hindustani classical.

Bollywood, Sufi, Ghazal to Punjabi folk; Back by popular demand: renowned British Asian singer-songwriter Zack Knight will heat up the crowds with his distinctive mix of popular Bollywood songs and R&B; DJ/producer collective Panjabi Hit Squad will take to the stage with their hot ‘Desi Beats’, a new genre fusing Bhangra and Urban Street Music.

Followed by no other than the mighty wordsmith Raxstar, British Asian rapper from Luton; Our incredible headline act Dutch Pakistani singer, rapper and songwriter Imran Khan will be back at ZEE London Mela with his chart-topping soulful R&B tunes and samples from his latest album.

Closing the main stage at ZEE Main Stage this year, we are absolutely thrilled to be presenting New Delhi based Ska Vengers with their unique, energising blend of Ska rhythms fused with Dub, Punk, Jazz and Rap, they’ll make sure to get you up dancing. Watch out for the Dhol Academy’s masses-enthralling drumming extravaganza who will appear shortly before the Vengers take the stage.
 
LYCAMOBILE Community Stage
Compered by legendary, crowd-drawing London Mela host Jay Kumar, the Lycamobile Community Stage will see wonderfully bold, engaging and colourful dance and performance acts of the likes of beat-exploding percussionists Dhol Beats UK; A fantastic range of performances by the best London based Bollywood and South Asian dance companies including D-Style Dance, Amit Dance Studio and Binal’s Dance Academy; Khoj – Trapeze Act, a brand new commission by Nutkhut and Cirque Bijou, and of course, Jay Kumar’s very own fun interactive dance programme for everyone to join in.
 
THE DRUM at Wembley Classical Stage sponsored by Brent Council 
Exceptional classical music delights from the South Asian hemisphere will be presented at The Drum featuring amongst others performances of Nepali Dance, energising Bollywood Brass Band, blind sitar master Baluji Shrivastav, mesmerising tabla players Sangeet Ensemble and the renowned Hussein Brothers Qawwali Group, alongside other special guests.  
 
MAGIC MELA Family Arts Zones 
From the National Wildlife Parks of Gujarat in the West of India to the Sundarbans of Bengal in the East, you will find some of the world’s most rare and endangered creatures here. Come to the London Mela Family Zones and discover Asiatic lions and Bengal tigers, birds and butterflies at our free, drop-in family arts and crafts activities for all ages, in association with Emergency Exit Arts. 
 
Street Theatre and Circus
Nutkhut and Cirque Bijou will be presenting Khoj, an exciting new outdoor show combining circus, dance and music, based on the iconic films - Mela (1948) a classic of Indian cinema and Logans Run (1976), set in the year 2274. Roaming around the festival will be Nutkhut’s distinctive larger than life comedic characters and beautiful Stilt Walker Princesses; and, join in and create your own dance performance with The Dance We Made, and learn how to Laughter Yoga. 

The street theatre and circus programme at ZEE London Mela is part of the Mela Partnership, a programme founded by Nutkhut to foster and enhance street theatre and circus in areas of low engagement and participation. The Mela Partnership is dedicated to commissioning, touring and presenting high quality outdoor work and supporting festivals and events that transform small towns and cities throughout the UK.

The Taste of Home Food Theatre sponsored by Rajah Spices is a multi-sensory cooking experience to be enjoyed by all the family! Throughout the day there will be cooking demos presented by renowned food writer, cook, traveller and lifestyle adventurer The Urban Rajah. The Taste of Asia Food Market is an absolute highlight at ZEE London Mela. Whether you want to discover new dishes or dine out on classics, with a hand-picked selection of mouth-watering food stalls ZEE London Mela will make sure the only issue you will have with food is being spoilt for choice. 
 
 
ZEE London Mela @ Wembley Park is a new London Mela event commissioned by Wembley Park taking place on Saturday 3rd September 2016, 12pm-7pm. Admission is free, all welcome.
