An Asian motorist who shouted racist abuse at a woman returning from mosque has been jailed for three months.
Preston Crown Court was told an 18-year-old had been to the mosque with other members of her family when two abusive remarks were directed at her.
Mohammed Rafique, aged 27, of Dundee Drive, Blackburn, admitted causing racially aggravated alarm and distress.
The victim and others were crossing the road and caused Rafique to slow down and stop.
He tooted his horn and abused the woman. A note was made of Rafique's registration number. Mr Lamberty said Rafique had previous convictions for public order matters.
Timothy Ashmole, defending, said: "It was a momentary loss of temper."
