Dear Massi, Can you help me. Since I got engaged, it seems all my savings are being spent on my fiancée.

She’s making me pay for all sorts of rubbish she says is important.

She’s getting hair extensions and eyelash extensions which is bad enough.

I don’t want to marry a barbie doll! The latest thing she has booked herself in for is botox on her foot so her heels don’t hurt her on the wedding day.

When I told her I wouldn’t pay for that, she said I should get botox on my underarms to stop me from sweating. I didn’t know she was so vain.

I am really worried that I made the wrong decision by proposing to her.

Massi says, As you are approaching your marriage, it is important to remember that communication is a key facet in your relationship.

You have articulated in your letter your concerns about your fiancée’s expenditure towards the event, but I wonder, have you expressed this to her.

Talk to your fiancée clearly about your concerns and your finances. This is not the time to be reticent about your feelings. Speak to your fiancée and try and reach a compromise.
