BRADFORD’s world Asian arm wrestling champion Umar Khan has successfully defended his belt in front of huge crowds in Pakistan.
Mr Khan is the undefeated world heavyweight champion in the sport Beeni - a form of arm wrestling popular in southern Asia.
After a number of successful defences in the UK and Dubai, Mr Khan, 25, from Manningham, travelled to Pakistan to wrestle.
He defended his title in front of crowds of more than 40,000 people at the bout in Mirpur, and he has now held the world title since 2014.
Mr Khan’s promoter, Yasser Ali, said other winners from Bradford at the event were Umar Khan’s brother Nazam Khan, Nasser Ali, Aqeeb Khalifa, Haider Ali and Aftab Hussain.
