The team behind Tyson Fury’s heavyweight title victory have spoken to Asian Image about being part of one of the biggest sporting upsets ever.

Fury stunned Wladimir Klitschko to win the WBA, IBF and WBO belts in front of 55,000 fans in Dusseldorf, Germany.

Among those in his corner was Blackburn’s Arif Ramzu, Bolton’s Ashif Patel of Fury Promotions, Asif Vali and Asgar Tair from Derby.

Arif said he was delighted to be part of boxing history. Speaking to Asian Image he said: “Going into the fight the belief was very strong.

"Tyson was pretty casual and relaxed before the fight and everyone was very focused.”

“We got there to ensure everything ran smoothly during the build-up.

"People don’t realise the amount of planning that goes into such event.

“There was the public work out, the press conferences and the weigh-in the night before the big fight.”

Despite the busy schedule the team found a while to relax with a walk in Dusseldorf market on the Thursday before the fight.

“We were in the corner during the fight itself and our job was to ensure that the family and the rest of our team members were taken care of too.”

Tair has been with Team Fury for four years. He said he met Tyson via his uncle Peter Fury. “He needed someone who he could trust. It took around two to three years selecting the most trusting and best members.
