I am always on the lookout for something different. This month whilst out shopping with the family I came across a secret little place in Blackburn market.

So without further ado (and I was pretty hungry after all that shopping) I decided to try out some of their specialities.

The Curry Stall run by Imran Valli Adam and family set up in the market two years ago. Since then it has been dishing out everything from curries to light snacks to eager shoppers.

And it seems to have gone down a storm.

Whilst I waited and chatted with Mr Adam no less than eight customers happily came and went with their own favourite order.

It was not hard to see why?

The stall is only open on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays thus is able to provide extra fresh food at all times. There is a wide range of dishes on offer each more tempting than the next.

My starters consisted of large samosas, onion bhajis and some Roast Chicken.

For the main meal I was served, Lamb Biryani, Lamb Bhuna, a Chicken Curry, Channa Aloos (Chick peas and Potatoes) and Chicken Tikka Pieces.

While the Biryani was a bit spicy for my liking I highly recommend the Chicken Curry and Chicken Kofte.

I think over time many food places have ignored the real reason people go out and buy food.

We want freshly made curries like our own mums would make at home.

We don't want clever gimmicks and slogans.

Here at the Curry Stall they have realised this potential and are making it a reality by providing a range of curries all at reasonable prices.

I was particularly impressed with the simplicity of the place.

On top of serving ready made food customers can also take home frozen meals and a separate service is avaible for outside catering.

The success of the Curry Stall lies above all in its food. The stall itself is functional and isn't much to look at (it is a market stall after all!) but the food is right up there with the greats.

Top stuff.
