TRIBUTES have been left at the scene where a young woman died following a crash in Bradford.

A man has been arrested in connection with the collision which took place at around 4.37pm on Hamm Strasse, near the junction with Manningham Road, on Saturday, November 4.

It involved a blue BMW 320D M sport and a female pedestrian - who has been locally named "Ayesha".

The 22-year-old suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital, where she tragically later died a short time later.

When the Telegraph & Argus visited the scene on Monday morning, six bunches of flowers had been left at a nearby railing.

One message read: "To our beautiful niece Ayesha, a young life taken tragically. Our hearts are in pieces. The only consolation is you will now be reunited with your mum. Love from Uncle Bala."

Another said: "To my beautiful cousin Ayesha, our souls are shaken, our hearts are broken and our lives will never be the same again. Love from Saima."

"You will forever be missed, lots of love from Safa," one message also said.

Another read: "To my loving cousin Ayesha, your departure has left a void which has broken our hearts. Taken so tragically - the pain we feel cannot be put into words. Love from Salma."

Road closures were put in place at the location on Saturday afternoon and nearby while collision investigation work was conducted at the scene.

The male driver of the BMW was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

The T&A has asked West Yorkshire Police for an update on this.

Police are urging witnesses to come forward with information or footage of the incident.

Detective Sergeant Mick Kilburn, of the Major Collision and Enquiry Team (MCET), said: “We are continuing to investigate this very serious collision in which a young woman has tragically lost her life.

“I would like to speak to anyone who saw or has footage of the collision, or the BMW just prior to it."

Anyone who can assist enquiries is asked to contact MCET on 101, referencing log 1139 of November 4.
