Officers were called at approximately 9:20pm on Friday, 17 December 2021, to Hainault Road, Redbridge, to reports of a collision involving a motorcyclist and an Audi TT vehicle.

London Ambulance Service attended and the motorcyclist, Saleem Ahmed, who was aged 20, died at the scene. The driver of the Audi TT made off from the scene on foot.

One arrest has been made in connection with the incident.

Detectives from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are investigating.

Detective Sergeant Eddie Coleman said: “This is an incredibly tragic incident that has left a family devastated.
