The Met Police and Greenwich Council have been praised for their rapid response to racist graffiti being found on doors in Abbey Wood this morning (December 16).

The graffiti, which appeared to reference a far-right political party along with the phrase 'F*** off', had been sprayed onto the doors of communal blocks of flats in Viola Avenue and Fuchsia Street.

But the offensive slogan was painted over "within half an hour" of it being reported, with the police and council both being praised for their rapid response.

Incidents involving street cleaning can be reported to Greenwich Council via its online form.
