Prayers were held at Gujarat Hindu Society in Preston for the 40 members of the Indian paramilitary police killed in Kashmir by terrorists.

More than 150 worshippers attended the prayer meeting at the temple on South Meadow Lane.

President at the GHS, Dashrathbhai said, "This is sad day for all Indians and condemned the actions of terrorist and praised the soldiers for their bravery to face the challenges posed by Terrorists and prayers were the appropriate way of showing our sense of loss of our soldiers and pray to Lord Krishna to rest their souls in PEACE and give strength to their families who have lost their loved ones.

A car filled with explosives was rammed a bus carrying the troops to Srinagar. Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad said it was behind the attack.
