An innocent man had his home raided by police after being targeted by a series of hoax calls.
Gee Hussain, aged 43, says that police in Derby have attended his address more than 10 times in recent months.
A female online troll from America had been making false claims that Mr Hussain was holding his wife Sham hostage.
Mr Hussain is believed to have been a victim of a crime known in the US as 'swatting', which refers to bogus reports designed to ensure police or SWaT (Special Weapons and Tactics) teams are called to an address.
He said: “I was lucky as I had seen several armed response officers approaching my drive and hiding behind my cars.
“I saw it on my CCTV and I opened the door for them with my hands above my head. They came in and were all stood there with guns.
“It’s an absolute nightmare and I don’t know how it’s going to stop.”
Mr Hussain, is a music promoter, says the harassment began when the woman claimed to be a male music promoter.
He said: “She said she wanted to bring two of my acts to America on an all-expenses paid trip.
“She offered to pay me $20,000 to bring them over, but I didn’t receive any payment.
“When I decided not to send any more details over without payment, she turned on me all of a sudden.
“I thought what can you do? You live in America. But she got hold of my home address.”
US courts have charged a woman with harassment.
