A 35-year-old woman found dead in east London has been named by police. Sarah Ashraf was discovered by police at a home in East Ferry Road, Poplar, at around 6.20pm on Saturday.

A post-mortem examination is due to take place on Monday.

A 32-year-old man, who knew Ms Ashraf, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and taken to a police station in east London.

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Considine said: "We are keen to hear from anyone who heard or saw anything that seemed out of the ordinary at the address on Saturday January 5 or the days leading up to it."
