Even Donald Trump's most ardent supporters were trying to figure out why he would want to endorse a right-wing ultra-nationalist group like Britain First.
Piers Morgan who has defended Donald Trump could not help but show his disgust as the President's latest actions on Twitter.
Writing for Mail Online he said, "I don’t know what on earth possessed Donald Trump to offer such a stunning, shocking and repulsive endorsement of these racist Muslim-despising scumbags.
"Either he had no idea who these people really are, or he did know and decided they were worthy of his support.
The first makes him a bloody fool. "The second makes him a bloody disgrace.
"Whatever the truth, the massive damage has now been done."
Good morning, Mr President @realDonaldTrump - what the hell are you doing retweeting a bunch of unverified videos by Britain First, a bunch of disgustingly racist far-right extremists?
— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) November 29, 2017
Please STOP this madness & undo your retweets.
Mr President, please take down the videos you retweeted from the Britain First group. It is beneath even you to do such a thing. https://t.co/Owld2LYKRm

Britain First is a vile, hate-fuelled organisation whose views should be condemned, not amplified. https://t.co/Qf8plF4wOx pic.twitter.com/tDrG3UggRN

It didn't take long before the facts behind the posts were revealed.
I translated this Dutch article. It and others all say that the video Trump purported to be of a Muslim immigrant assaulting someone is a complete white supremacist hoax.

The boy was not a Muslim or an immigrant. https://t.co/bUJpeGnN4x
I️ want every Muslim American to know that we are grateful for your countless contributions to this nation and we stand with you in fighting hatred and bigotry. Donald Trump does not speak for us.

This is as dangerous as it is disgusting — above all, it’s not who we are. Democrats will continue to stand with the Muslim community in the face of Trump’s hatred and bigotry. https://t.co/pxbcjsJx3i

Jewish groups were quick to condemn the President.
"We stand with the Muslim community and with all those condemning this shameful message"https://t.co/vKdnRKO4pX
