A whole load of events are taking place throughout the region during the Eid period. Here is our pick of the bunch.
SHOPPING
Cheshire Oaks
If it is Eid clothes you are looking for then Cheshire Oaks is still up there with the best. It is open until 8pm all this week and from 9am–8pm On Saturday which is set to be the big Eid shopping day of the year. The address is Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet Village Kinsey Rd, Ellesmere Port CH65 9JJ.
Middlebrook Retail and Leisure Park
The Middlebrook Retail and Leisure Park has a range of activities and a wide range of shops. Off the M61 the centre is open from 9am until 8pm throughout this week.
Intu Trafford Centre
The intu Trafford Centre is hosting a number of events in the run-up to Eid. The centre is hosting three days’ of entertainment to mark the festival, including music, dancing, film and henna art. Events start this Friday and will run into Sunday with the centre open late.
CHAND RAATS
Manchester Chand Raat
The famous Longsight Chand has been taking place in Manchester since 2002 and has grown to become Europe’s biggest Chand Raat celebration.
There is real buzz each year and if the weather holds out and with it being the weekend expect a wonderful atmosphere.
This year the event will take place on Saturday July 24. The address is Dickenson Road, Manchester, M13 0WG.
A new Bazaar is opening in Blackburn and to celebrate a chand raat will be held on Saturday 24 June on King Street (off montague Street).
FESTIVALS AND FUN
MANCHESTER The Manchester Eid Festival that will be taking place outside the world-renowned Old Trafford Football Stadium, the home of Manchester United on July 1st and 2nd from 11am till 8pm. There will be free parking on site. Entry: Adults £2, Children £1. All proceeds go to charity.
SOUTHPORT There is free entry at Southport Pleasure Land. A great place for kids this and good value for money.
BLACKBURN: The annual Blackburn United Fun Day takes place on Sunday July 2 at St Mary's College, Blackburn. Great fun for the family.
PRESTON: The Light Foundation are hosting a Community Fun Day on July 1 at the Catherine Becketts Centre in Preston
MANCHESTER: The British Muslim Heritage Centre Annual Eid Festival 2017 will be held on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 July 2017. ?It is on from 10am to 7pm on both days. The address if College Rd, Whalley Range, Manchester, M16 8BP
