A Saudi scholar has declared that showing off iftar meals is harmful to Islam.
Sheikh Saad, a member of the seven-man Supreme Scholars Committee in Saudi Arabia said that filming iftar meals and publicising them was a way of showing off.
According to the Saudi daily ‘Al-Jazirah,’ Sheikh Saad said, ‘Muslims should not show off by publicising iftar meals whether they are charity or other meals. ‘Filming such meals and pilgrims in the holy sites for publication purposes is harmful to the religion and worshipping activities.’
