We’ve been in the throes of a heatwave summer, which has meant flip flops and maxi dresses. However, this rare sunny treat has meant that my feet have seen better days.

Having exposed feet and wearing flat sandals has put increased pressure on my heels, not to mention my poor feet picking up all the outdoor elements of dust and grime. So a pedicure was in order, so I could either do a DIY at home pedicure (which requires time), or get my feet pumiced professionally (which requires time and deep pockets).

As I was not in great supply of either, the Micro Pedi (£29.99) promised the answer. The Micro Pedi is a handheld, battery operated device which looks like an electric razor, but buffs away dry skin with rotating pumice. Using it is simple, you simply glide the pedi up and down (or side-to-side) across the heels, and it lifts away dry skin like talcum powder. You focus on one area for just a few seconds, avoiding going over the same area for too long.

To show you how easy it is, I have included a demo video below. The results are pretty incredible, if not gross. Check out my website.

You could practically create a loose powder with all that dry skin! The final verdict: it is a unanimous thumbs up for the Micro Pedi, it’s quick and easy to use and saves you sloughing away in the shower, or forking out on a pedicure.

Also, with a professional pedicure, the focus is usually on polishing the toes anyway, rather than actually doing away with dry heels.

I can’t compare it with its famous counterpart, the Ped-Egg, as I’ve not used it, but others have and say the Micro-Pedi offers much better results and is gentler on the skin.

n The Micro-Pedi is available at Boot for £29.00.
