Police Officer Beverly Taylor was the recipient of the ILM Public Service Award.
After accepting the award she said, “I am still shaking. It is nice to be recognised for the work I have been doing in the community.
“I have never been before and of course I am pleased I came this time and it is a fantastic occasion.”
Beverley has gone above and beyond her role in helping to undertake a series of projects for the betterment of the wide community.
Through her work she has helped to highlight the plight of deaf people, issues surrounding forced marriages and raising the awareness of adults with learning difficulties. She was recently involved with a project aimed at helping elderly people.
Many of these roles have been undertaken in addition to the demands of her role.
Public Service Award finalists at the event were: Tariq Rafique, Nin Fletcher, Nafysa Patel and Irfan Syed.
