When I first started playing the song, I almost lost my head… laughing!

But the more I listened to it, the more it actually grew on me.

The lyrics are strange, they rhyme and they catch, they’re not exactly romantic but this song isn’t trying to be.

.

It reminds me of Imran Khan, ‘Amplifier’. The whole style of that was strange at first, a guy comparing him and his ‘girl’ to a sound system and showing off his disregard to reckless… in Punjabi! However, that song is still to this day, a unique one, one that no one has been able to replicate.

That is, until now. I can’t imagine myself singing along to this anywhere (out loud) but the lyrics, the language and the voices are well suited to this kind of genre. Nindy Kaur’s RnB style singing around two and half minutes into the song, for me, is the best part.

It breaks the song up a little and gives it something extra for people to enjoy. I don’t even mind the musical special effects used, and I am very anti-auto tune but this is the kind of song that it works with, record producers need to take note.

This is precisely why such RDB have been successful in the music industry and not just the Asian music industry.

After working with Ludacris, Snoop Dogg and Public Enemy, their experience in the various genres have given them that edge over other current bhangra music artists and I for one, hope they continue to produce great music.

MY Verdict: This song should and will be successful, even if you don’t love it, the lyrics and story of the song won’t fail to make you chuckle. The fusion of genres has been well executed here and for once I appreciate that they have stayed true to themselves and their styles.
