DUCKWORTH Betty Elaine (née Rushton) Of Livesey died 16 May 2024 age 92. Sister to Ronald and Derek. Wife to Brian. Mother to Antony, Julia and Alison. Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Aunt and godmother. Teacher and launderette proprietor. Gardener, dancer, golfer, gracious host, piano player, choral singer, volunteer. Memorial service at her church, Immanuel Feniscowles on 24 May 2024 at 11:30. Family flowers only.

I went to school with her children and remember going to the most amazing birthday parties. The effort she put in to everything was so amazing that I the experiences have stuck with me

It was in the years 1951-2 that our physics classes at QEGS, Blackburn, were joined by two students from the Girls High School, one of whom was Betty Rushton. The girls added a very positive aspect to our daily routine. Our views on co-education had to be adjusted. Classroom behaviour improved by the day! I remember Betty as petite, bright and very pleasant. They were wonderful girls! RIP Betty, Your memory is still with us.
