Rifco Theatre Company's latest production 'Frankie Goes To Bollywood' comes to Manchester this month.

The musical will be at the HOME Manchester from Wednesday 15 May to Saturday 25 May before going on a national tour covering multiple cities in the UK including Hayes, Windsor, Wolverhampton, Coventry, Cardiff, Bradford and Hornchurch.

Directed and written by Artistic Director of RIFCO, Pravesh Kumar MBE, Frankie Goes To Bollywood is a  all-singing-all-dancing tale of heroes and villains, with all the costumes and the spectacle of a Bollywood feature film.

It tells the tale of being British in Bollywood and explores what it takes to get to the top. Drawing inspiration from both traditional Bollywood music and the best of Western musical theatre, the music for Frankie Goes To Bollywood is designed to appeal to lovers of the Bollywood genre and also lovers of a good old West  End extravaganza.

Pravesh Kumar MBE, said:  “In my decade working in Bollywood I collected so many stories of young people with bright eyes looking for the spotlight, who got chewed up and spat out by the nepotistic machine.

"Women are constantly objectified by the industry, and I wanted to tell a story about these issues that also embraces what we love about Bollywood.

"This show brings all the vibrancy of a Bollywood musical, and is also very funny with some larger-than-life characters, but I decided it’s time to we held up a mirror to the Bollywood film industry and exposed its darker side too.”
