A BRADFORD woman says there is more to come from her after she missed out on winning a TV cookery show title.

Radha Kaushal-Bolland, 23, was one of three contestants who battled it out in the final of BBC One’s MasterChef.

She faced tough competition from fellow contestants Pookie Tredell and Eddie Scott in the final as they all showed off their culinary flair to judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace.

All three had three hours to make three courses to impress the two judges.

Radha made a starter she called a ‘celebration of veg and scallops of the forest’. This dish featured king oyster mushroom stem with curry butter and parsnips done three ways; puree, crisps and pickled.

For her main course she made paneer cheese which was stuffed with masala mix and also featured peshwari rice.

Radha’s dessert was her take on Eton mess featuring meringues with fennel pollen, berry coulis and olive oil.

Despite impressing John and Gregg, Radha missed out on the title as Eddie was crowned this year’s MasterChef champion.

Radha said: “I’m really, really proud of myself and how far I have come.

“I am a completely different person to how I started this competition.

“There is definitely a bit more to see from me.

This is not the last time you will see my face, by any means

“I was really pleased with my performance and what I put out today.

“It was an emotional one, but it was always going to be.”

John dubbed Radha as a ‘talent to watch’, while Gregg added her confidence had grown throughout the competition and she now believes in herself. John described her final cook-off food dishes as incredible. Radha told the judges; “Thank you, I have learned so much.”

Before the final cook-off during Thursday night’s final, a profile film featured Radha’s family paying tribute to her.

Her boyfriend Luke was featured, alongside a video tribute from her brother who is studying abroad.

Durham-born Radha spent part of her young life growing up in County Durham before the family moved to Bradford.
