All I have been hearing about recently is the ‘new song from Aashiqui 2’ and how amazing it is so it was only a matter of time that numerous cover versions were going to start popping up on YouTube.
However when an established singer creates their version, they should prepare themselves for much scrutiny from their fans and critics alike.
In this instance, Arjun took a risk by mixing the cover of ‘Tum Hi Ho’ with the R&B smash hit single ‘U Got It Bad’ by Usher and although the themes of the song are very similar, it doesn’t necessarily guarantee the mix will work.
As well as the two songs, Arjun has also thrown in to the mix, his own English lyrics and supporting Hindi vocals from Rekha Sawhney so there is a lot going on in the song.
Thankfully the artist has stuck to the theme of the song when creating the video so there is a consistent flow to the whole track.

Both Arjun and Rekha’s vocals complement each other perfectly producing a very heartwarming sound to the vocals.
MY Verdict: The vocals and video are faultless and to an extent the lyrics of the song too. The song was enjoyable to listen to however I can’t help but feel there is a bit too much going on in the song.
The simplicity of ‘Tum Hi Ho’ is what has made it to popular with listeners so to mix so much with it has diluted the beauty of the song. Still, a good song nonetheless.
