Dear Massi,  My husband is really embarrassing.  He has started jogging ever since the doctor told him to lose weight but he goes jogging in his shalwaar and hoody.

He looks ridiculous.

And I'm having doubts about him actually doing a proper jog. It has been about a month and he hasn't lost any weight. In fact he looks fatter.

Someone told me they see him every few nights in the local takeaway.

When I confronted him, he said he just pops in to chat to the owner who he knows.

How do I stop his embarrassing behaviour?

Massi Says, What your husband wears when he exercises is really his own personal concern.

By being critical of his clothing choice, you will only discourage him from exercising.

Your husband should be comfortable when he exercises.

Rather than being so judgmental, why not find a way to encourage your husband?

You can suggest exercising together.

If you suspect your husband is eating junk food whilst pretending to be jogging, approach this in a more gentle way.

It takes a lot of motivation and support to begin and sustain an exercise regime.

Perhaps go back to the doctor together to talk about alternative exercises that your husband may be more receptive to.
