They were 16 points ahead of their rivals when the season came to standstill due to the coronavirus crisis. The league committee, like many others across the UK opted to settle the placings on a points per game system which put EG deservedly top and Blackburn United in second place.

Their final game saw them overpower United 2-1 and was followed by celebrations in the EG changing rooms. They managed to score a staggering 97 goals and lost only one game during a season when they were rarely off the top of the table. Marc Slater hit 50 goals in an amazing run of performances.
