WHILE some clubs have previously ditched the sale of match-day programmes, and others will follow suit in the coming season, Oldham RLFC has decided to continue with the sale of traditional programmes.
For various reasons this is no longer a money-making exercise – hence the decision of many clubs to either go online or abandon programmes entirely – but the majority view of the Roughyeds’ 10-strong management committee was to retain the status quo.
One of the reasons to stay traditional is the fact that many supporters have told the club they prefer a written programme and would be disappointed if it were to become another thing of the past in a rapidly-changing world.
The club has listened to what they have said in the hope that supporters will realise there is a lot of work involved in regular programme production with very little, if any, financial return.
