BURY ABC boxer Abdul Khan chalked up another win on Saturday as he looks to keep the family tradition in the sport thriving.

The teenager is the great nephew of Shah Khan, father of Bolton’s former unified world champion Amir, and is also coached by Mick Jelley – the trainer who helped Amir in his early career.

And the youngster, who fights at 56kg, met up with former British super featherweight champion Gary Sykes and tried his Lonsdale belt out for size after his own latest win at the Abna Community Centre in Huddersfield.

Khan, from Halliwell, won unanimously on points against Sandrino Mirga in west Yorkshire before meeting up with Sykes.
