BURY ABC boxer Abdul Khan was on the wrong end of a split decision in Greater Manchester’s clash with Yorkshire at the Northern Area quarter-finals of the National Association of Boys and Girls Clubs boxing championships.
Teenager Khan, pictured, from Bolton, was beaten by Blaine Lambert, of Laisterdyke Boxing Club in Bradford, in what trainer Mick Jelley says was a “very tight contest I thought we shaded”.
Another Bury youngster, 16-year-old Yusuf Khan, was beaten by Premier ABC’s Reza Abezari at the Last Drop Village last Thursday.
Fighting at 60kg, he lost by a unanimous decision.
