Charlton’s loan-signing once again got the plaudits after an all-action display in their 3-0 win over Derby.

The Chelsea academy product struck his second goal in as many games, taking his tally to five goals in 11 for the Addicks this term.

A startling return for a 19-year-old in his first season in men’s football.

His emergence once again got his manger purring over the potential the midfielder possesses.

“I don’t know how much more I can praise him,” Charlton boss Lee Bowyer admitted.

“The kid’s doing so well.

“It’s not just in possession, but his work rate, he’s everywhere, literally everywhere.

“He doesn’t stop working for the team.

“We are lucky to have him.

“He’s a great player and Chelsea have a good one there.

“He’s only 19 and he’s got stuff to learn, but he’s fearless, and the kid can play.

“Frank’s got a good one there for sure.”

Gallagher struck on 67 minutes, picking up the ball 25-yards out before unleashing an unstoppable effort that added to Macauley Bonne and Naby Sarr strikes to make the game safe.

Analyzing the youngster, Bowyer, a midfielder who knew where the back of the net was himself, admitted he knew what Gallgher was capable of.

“As soon as he hit it, I think I was up,” Bowyer continued.

“He does it in training.

“As soon as he hit it I thought ‘goal.’

“He’s got everything. He’s some player.

“You can have all the ability that he’s got but you can see him coming out of his shell more and more now.

“Not in an arrogant way but a positive way.

“Look lads, I’ve got more to show you but I’m just blending myself in.

“He’s only 19 and he’s only played 10, 11 games for us.

“His work rate is unbelievable Watching from up high, you see it even more.”

Gallagher’s strike places him as the club’s joint top scorer alongside the injured Lyle Taylor.
