TWO goals in each half gave Oxford United a 4-1 win over Portsmouth in their FA Women’s National League Southern Premier clash.
Kayleigh Hines and Evie Gane put the U’s in control at the break, before late strikes from Emily Allen and Cheryl Williams completed a fine performance.
Hines opened the scoring after just seven minutes when firing home from 25 yards.
Gane made it 2-0 from close range after a Hines cross was headed back across goal.
Williams almost made it three at the start of the second half, but her spectacular half-volley from 30 yards grazed the top of the crossbar.
They made the points safe five minutes from time when Allen scored with a deflected strike.
And although Portsmouth pulled one back through Mia Adaway, Williams restored the three-goal advantage with the last kick of the game to maintain United’s 100 per cent start to the season.
Oxford Utd: Watson, Clifford, Beaver, Sims, Searle, Hines, Haynes, Williams, Gane, Timms (Moore), Allen. Subs not used: Lancaster, Baker, Johns, Kirby.
