Broadcaster Sonali Shah has released a picture book about Diwali in time for the Festival of Lights.
‘The Best Diwali Ever’ is a story about family, culture and the traditions of Diwali. It is illustrated by Chaaya Prabhat and brings to life the spirit of Diwali as well as touching on a young brother and sister relationship.
Sonali Shah said: “Celebrating Diwali in my household has always been a huge family occasion, with lots of light and colour during a very positive time of year.
"I was over the moon to write a story which centres around the young family relationships between a sister and brother, the annoying parts and the extra special parts, as well as use this as an opportunity to explain the meaning of Diwali and how it is celebrated around the world by different communities.
"The beautifully colourful illustrations by Chaaya Prabhat really bring the magic of Diwali to life on every page.”
