Children from the Madrasah Taleemul Islam, based at the Jamea Mosque in Preston have been cleaning-up their neighbourhood.
The initiative was part of their Ilm2Amal lesson - 'Respecting the Environment'.
The equipment was loaned from Preston City Council.
Ilm2Amal volunteer Yasin Bux said, "It is very important the children are given the opportunity to learn the different kinds of responsibilities, rights and duties they have at home, at Madrasah, in the community and towards the environment.
"This year the children at our Madrasah have been busy taking part in various Ilm2Amal activities ranging from Nature Trails, cleaning up the Community Play Area, visiting the local Fire Station and Ppanting 150 Trees at the local Nature Reserve.
"We encourage all other Madrasah's to actively engage their children in Community Activities and make their Madrasah experience an enjoyable one."
